Meet The Team – Tony Bamber, Landlord Director

At CTG, we firmly believe that people buy from people. That’s why we’re keen to introduce the individuals behind our expertise and success, giving you the opportunity to get to know the team that helps deliver our services every day.

Following our introduction to CEO and Founder Andy Wells, we’d now like to introduce our Landlord Director, Tony Bamber. We sat down with Tony to learn more about his role within the business, his experience working with landlords and housing providers, and what drives his passion for delivering safer, smarter connectivity solutions.

Q: What is your job title, and what is your role at CTG?

A: I am an Account Director, and my role is primarily focused on managing relationships with CTG’s existing landlord partners. My responsibility is to ensure that the service we deliver matches what we have promised and that our partners receive the support they need throughout their projects. If anything goes wrong, it’s essentially my head on the block!

Another key part of my role is speaking with landlords who are interested in understanding how CTG can support them, free of charge, with their fibre roll-out programmes. We provide project support, independent reassurance, expertise and guidance to help them navigate the process successfully.

Q: Tell us about your experience and how it helps in your role at CTG.

A: I have worked in Account Management and Business Development for over 20 years across a number of different sectors, ranging from finance to renewable energy. I’ve also worked within a variety of organisations, from the oldest continually operating business in the UK, The Royal Mint, through to start-up companies.

This breadth of experience has given me a strong understanding of relationship management, customer service and how to support organisations with different challenges and objectives.

Q: How did you get into this industry?

A: I was approached about the role when the company had really just got started. Four and a half years ago, I was completely new to the world of fibre, but I’ve learned a huge amount during that time and continue to learn every day.

It’s an exciting, constantly evolving market that is never short of challenges, which is one of the things I enjoy most about it.

Q: What are you committed to, and what inspires you in your work?

A: Customer service, without question. If we’ve promised to do something, we should deliver it. If things don’t go right- which they don’t always – it’s important to acknowledge it, take action and put everything you have into resolving the issue as quickly as possible.

For me, building trust through honesty, accountability and delivering on commitments is what matters most.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

A: Outside of work, I spend most of my time playing football with my nine-year-old son. Whether it’s snowing, raining, windy or sunny, you’ll usually find me kicking a football at him while he practises being a goalkeeper. He’s completely obsessed with it, and I wouldn’t have it any other way (well most of the time)😊
