Complete Technology Group appoints Chris McLain as CEO
Complete Technology Group (CTG), the digital infrastructure specialist, has appointed Chris McLain as the new Chief Executive, with the incumbent, Eddie Minshull, continuing as Chair.
Chris McLain takes up the leadership on 2 October 2023, bringing extensive commercial experience in growing property-related services, and infrastructure companies.
Chris has worked as MD, CEO or Chairman for companies both large and small including GSH Group plc, Connaught, E.ON, HomeServe and more recently, Home Energy Services, Tivoli, CET and Ballyclare Group. Chris has delivered exceptional growth, through strong operational performance, diversification and a mixture of M&A and organic growth.
CTG Chair, Eddie Minshull said: “We’re delighted to welcome Chris as our Chief Executive, after an extensive search process.
“In just three years, our Group has gone from concept to supporting national and regional landlords with the planning, build and audit of gigabit-enabled full fibre infrastructure across their high-rise building portfolios – and we do this to a safe, high-quality standard.
“Whilst we’re a relatively young company, we’re growing at pace, building trust in the market, and the time is right for a dedicated CEO to take the helm for the next stage of the company’s development. Chris brings a strong track record in getting companies to deliver services at scale, driving innovation and unlocking sector challenges. His skill set has tremendous synergy with the needs of our business for the next phase of its development.”
Set up in 2020, CTG acts as a bridge for landlords and telecommunications providers, facilitating for both parties so residents living in blocks of flats (also known as Multi Dwelling Units) gain safe access to reliable, ultra-fast digital connectivity. Its sister company, Complete Fibre, installs passive, full fibre infrastructure enabling multiple Internet Service Providers to ‘plug and play’ and offer residents in MDUs, ultrafast broadband services.
Clients are across the UK and include Orbit Housing, A2Dominion, One Housing, Peabody, L&Q, Raven Housing, Curo, and Selwood Housing, with more landlords signing up to their services each month.
“This is an exciting time to join a market disrupter sitting between the housing and telecoms sectors, said Chris.
“It is a real privilege to be joining the team of such a forward-thinking company as CTG, working with the founders and their vision to bring connectivity to people in an underserved sector of the market. I bring extensive experience across infrastructure, property services and customer experience, regularly growing companies at pace by developing services to meet the needs of our customers.
I’m looking forward to talking to landlords, telcos, and partners to better understand their worlds and how we can continue to improve our services. Ultimately, we want to connect more high-rise buildings, optimise more operator networks, and ensure, all residents – irrespective of where they live – are digitally enabled.”
