Meet The Team – Andy Wells

At CTG, we firmly believe people buy people, so we are keen to introduce our team so that you can get to know the individuals and their areas of expertise and experience. To kick off, we thought we’d start with our CEO and Founder, Andy Wells, so we asked him some questions to learn more about his role in the business and let you know what inspires him.

Q: What is your job title, and what is your role at CTG?

A: I am the CEO and founder of CTG.

Within my role, I provide leadership, motivation, and direction to our people in delivering our mission of bringing digital inclusion and landlord services within MDUs to the highest safety standards while driving ESG.

Q: Your experience and how this helps your role at CTG?

A: I have worked in the wider telecoms industry for nearly 40 years in an ever-changing environment, one that has become ever more critical to our everyday lives and the things people rely on.

I have had the good fortune to lead large, diverse teams, ranging from operational teams’ delivery, for example, the L2012 telecoms infrastructure, as well as large-scale fibre, rollout and asset assurance programmes. I find this diverse experience invaluable to my current role and helps give me the passion to continue to make CTG the success and enabler of positive change it is.

Q: How did you get into this industry?

A: I started at 16 years old as an apprentice for what was then the GPO, which again has given me a real grounding in what’s involved at the sharp end.

Q: What are you committed to, and what inspires you in your work?

A: I am committed to driving change and building great teams of people within an all-inclusive culture. I am inspired by people and leaders who do the right thing, make a difference, and leave a positive legacy. I’m also a big believer that you should never stop learning, especially within our industry.

I love to see and hopefully help people and organisations develop and go on to make a difference.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

A: Outside of work, I enjoy squash when my knees hold out and cycling when they don’t. I also enjoy gardening, meeting new people, making memories with my family on holiday and a good red wine or two.
