MDU building safety, integrity and inclusion.
All pro bono

CTG’s multi-sector expertise from the housing, telecoms, energy and charity sectors enables landlords to drive digital inclusion, maximise MDU building safety and reduce climate impact.

We partner with landlords to optimise digital infrastructure strategy and route planning for MDUs, then audit to ensure safe and high-quality installation. And our approach supports Golden Thread principles from start to finish, so everyone has confidence in the compliance process.

Importantly, our services are available at no cost to landlords or residents. Costs are met through the fibre network leasing fee paid by telecommunications companies, for whom we enable faster and easier access to MDUs for installations.

Safety standards

We’re experts in MDU building safety and quality. Our digital infrastructure work is built on this, and our commitment to industry best practice regulatory and quality standards.

Our team is right up to speed on the legislative, regulatory and governance issues faced by landlords, from The Building Safety Act 2022 to a raft of further key requirements, and we make sure that all these commitments are met.

Fire safety strategy

We put MDU building safety at the heart of what we do, led by our highly experienced Head of Health and Safety, and Fire Technical Manager. They’ve helped develop our new, best in class Fire Safety Strategy, which we believe is a ‘first of its kind’ for the housing sector.

Best practice industry standards for fibre networks

We’ve also worked very closely with the housing sector to help develop new best practice industry standards for fibre network installation. This framework establishes clear expectations and control mechanisms, normalising good practice and providing the transparency needed for landlords and telcos to move forward swiftly and confidently.

Integrity

We partner with landlords to enable a choice of digital connectivity service providers for residents, with as little disruption and delay as possible. And making this happen means achieving successful outcomes both for landlords and telecommunications providers.

We always audit buildings after digital infrastructure works, using Golden Thread principles to provide full transparency on the structural integrity and safety of buildings. We have a clear, well proven process, and provide a digital handover pack at the end of engagements. This meshes seamlessly with your in-house systems, providing a detailed and clear asset record to underpin ongoing compliance.

Peace of mind

For your further peace of mind CTG is a member of the British Standards Institute (BSI), and we also hold ISO45001 accreditation, evidencing our mature health and safety culture, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Our rigorous approach means providers are fully accountable, and all work is carried out to the highest regulatory standards. It significantly reduces risk for landlords and telecommunications providers alike.

Inclusion

The principle of digital inclusion is encapsulated in our corporate vision, which aims to see every home with access to the advantages of safe, reliable, high quality digital infrastructure.

Enabling digital connectivity for residents in multi dwelling units comes with unique challenges. With our particular focus on improving access for MDUs, we help landlords deliver inclusion for their communities.

We will enhance digital infrastructure by 2027.

ESG matters

Achieving environmental, social and corporate governance goals matters as much to us as it does to you. Access to broadband connectivity and technology make it more possible for people to realise opportunities and achieve their potential. These considerations are hardwired into our ethos and management systems, to support your long term success.

We are equally determined to reduce carbon emissions and further environmental impacts through our work. Complete Fibre, our building to home fibre optic infrastructure, can create up to a 65-75% carbon saving for the average MDU, when compared to installing multiple networks.

A smart future

Technology is crucial as landlords work to enhance services and contain costs. Digital solutions that help residents and enhance building management are proliferating, underlining the ever greater role digital infrastructure plays.

Fibre networks open the way to exciting innovations across the housing sector, including smart building services. These real-time, data driven innovations promise to enhance the tenant experience whilst realising a multitude of management efficiencies and improvements, together with compelling environmental gains.

Technology has a vital role to play in helping you to monitor, register and enable carbon savings. And better digital connectivity positions you to meet the more stringent building compliance standards of the future.
